GALE A RAIN IN AUCKLAND. FOLLOWED BY~FINE DAY, (Par Press Association.! Auckland, May 28. A heavy gale on Sunday was suoceeded by a torrential downpour, the rainfall for the 48 hours to midnight being 2.47 inches, making 7.79 inches for Maj- to date. The weather today is fine. LATE H.B. RIVERS REPORT.
The following on the state of the rivers was received late this afternoon : The Tuki Tuki river at the Grance bridge is 2ft. above normal. Still rising. The Ngaruroro at Pakowhai is sft. above normal. Still rising. The Tutaekuri at Meeanee is Bft. above normal. Going down.
