Mrs. Matthews left for her home in New Plymouth yesterday alter a visit to her daughter, Mrs MortimerJones, at the A icarage. ♦ * • Mr and Mrs. S. Bicknell have been staying in Hastings this week after their wedding tour of the north, and motored down on Wednesday to their home in Dannevirke, ♦ » • Mrs. H. Davies, of Wellington, who lived for some years in Napier, is the guest of Mrs. Rogers, Havelock North. Mrs. R. C. Kirk, of Petone, arrived to-day for a visit to relatives in Hastings. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Hallett and family have returned from a holiday spent in Taupo, Madame Maunder, of Timaru, has been staying with Airs Rogers, Havelock North, and renewing old acquaintances in Hastings for the past ten days. e Miss Al. Wanklyn, of Napier, left this week from Auckland by the Aoiangi en route for England. Mrs. F. von Dadelszen is staying in Gisborne with her brother, Mr. P. A. Pettit. Miss Runa Norris, of Waipukurau, is staying with friends in the Gisborne district. Mrs. H. Donnelly, of Waipukurau, is staving at Havelock North with Mr and Mrs. F. Donnell.v. Musical ""people In Hastings are very interested to hear that Benno Moiseviteh, the famous pianist, has included Hastings in his forthcoming New Zealand tour, and will be here on June 12th. Moiseviteh is considered to he one of the finest pianists in the world at the present time. • • e A recent Hastings engagement is that of Violet McQuarry, elder daughter of Mrs Hunter, to Douglas Haig, third son of Mr. and Mrs. H.
