HASTINGS CENTRAL SCHOOL

SUCCESSFUL BALL, The Central School ball held in the Assembly Hall last evening proved a great success, there being about 403 people present. Delightful music was plnyed by Walden’s orchestra, and all present spent an enjoyable time. Messrs. Banks, Tindall, Clifford and Shnw were the M.C.’s. The winners of the competitions were:— Ladies’ 500: Mrs. Baird 1, Mrs. Ronald Robertson 2; gentlemen, Mr. E. M. Langley 1, Mr. Gordon 2. Foxtrot Competition: Miss Banks and Mr. Woodward 1, Miss Houghton and Mr. Banks 2. Wdltzing Competition: Mrs. C. Watkins and Mr. A. Curtis I, Miss Fitzgerald and Mr. Devinnie 2. The school funds will benefit very substintiallv as a result of the evening, as the proceeds carry a subsidy. The committee desire to thank the ladies and all who helped to make the ball a success.
