Henry William Gardner Meeh and Colin Charles McAsey. both aged 20, were charged before Mr. J. L, Stout. S.M.. at Palmerston North, with unlawfully converting to Uieir own use a motor car. They pleaded guilty. The police stated the car was taken from the Square and later recovered at Hawera. Each was sentenced to three months’ hard labour, the Magistrate remarking that that class of offence was on the increase and even the maximum punishment appeared unable t 0 step it
