Sir Austen Chamberlain stated that he did not conduct any negotiations with King Amanullah of Afghanistan or his acting Minister fo r Foreign Affairs during the recent Royal visit to this country. He did, however, have an opportunity of discussing with His Majesty and His Excellency tile general question of AngloArghan relations, a.nd of explaining khat the earnest wish of the British Government was to see the establishment of a strong and independent Arghanistan.
