THE COMING ELCETION MORE MARINES FOR NICARAGUA. Washington, March 17. Owing to the failure of Nicaragua to enuct legislation providing for United States supervision of the next Presidential election, it has been decided to send thithei 1000 additional United States marines. Mr Wilbur announced that the 1000 additional malines would bring the total force up to M r - Wilbur said the 1000 men would only be used to supervise the coming election, not to oppose General Sandlno, but other Government sources state that there is sufficient force already present to control the election. President Coolidge stated that ho regretted the necessity for sending more men. but he felt that the election must he properly carried out.— (A. and N.Z.) . REPUBLICAN FUNDS. Washington, March 17. President Coolidge ha 8 pronounced approval of Senator Borah’s tentative plan to repay the Sinclair bnlids. It is reported that the President and Mr Butler conferred on the subject, nnd it is expected a definite plan will be announced after April 3. The President said he believed Mr. Haves acted in good faith in accepting the money.—(A. and N.Z.) MOROCCO AND TANGIER. Washington, March 16. The United States to-day notified Britain France. Spain and Italy that it makes full reservation of its position on anv decisions by the conference in Paris on Moroccan affairs which m,av effect its rights in Morocco and Tangier.
