PETANE STOCK SALE. The Associated Stockbrokers report holding the Petane sale yesterday to a fair attendance of the public, and a moderate yarding of both cattle and sheep. Bidding was not brisk, but most of the sheep were quitted at top prices. Owners’ reserves were above the buyers’ ideas of values in cattle, and few changed hands. The prices ranged as follows: —s-year ewes 13/- to 16/-, mixed aged ewes 14/6 to 18/10, 4-tooth ewes 24/-, lambs 15/1, 2tooth wethers 18/9. The brokers report sales as under: Murray, Roberts and Co., Ltd.— 109 5-year ewes 13/-, 112 mixed aged ewes 16/-, 81 4-tooth ewes 24/-, 34 6-tooth ewes 2(J/-, 5 weaner pigs 15/-, 1 do. 16/6, 1 do. 16/-. N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd.—2ol 5-year ewes 15/10, 1 cow and calf £3, one potter bull 35/-. Dalgety and Co., Ltd.—32 fat ewes 15/-, 24 fwd. ewes 10/-, 12 2-tooth wethers 19/1, 12 do. 18/-, 203 5-year ewes 11/6. De Pelichet, McLeod and Co., Ltd.—ll fat ewes 15/-, 60 2,4, 6, and 8-tooth ewes 18/10, 26 ewes 9/-, 20 m.s. lambs 10/-, 43 at 8/-, 9 4-tooth wethers 18/-, 1 Southdown ram s}gns., 2 Romney rams 13/6, 1 fat cow £5. The Naw Zealand Meat Producers' Board advises that the following prices were being offered for fat stock for export at February 11:— Poverty Buy: Prime woolly lambs, 361bs. and under Bd, 37 too 42 7|d, 43 and over 7d; second quality lambs 7d. Hawke's Bay: Prime woolly lambs, 361bs. and under 9d, 37 to 42 Bid, 43 and over 8d; second quality lambs, Bd. Wellington: Prime woolly lambs, 361bs and under 9d, 37 to 42 Bjd, 43 and over B}d, second quality lambs Bd. Canterbury (prices delivered at works). Prime woolly lambs, 361hs and undei 9jd, 37 to 42 9d, 43 and over Bj|d , second quality lambs BJd. SYDNEY WOOL SALES. Sydney, Feb. 13. The wool sales were marked by the keenest competition of the whois season, all sections, France, America and Yorkshire, bidding very strongly. Super wools were un changed and all other classes of fleece wool par to five per cent higher. Skirtings advanced fully five per cent. Crossbreds of all grades improved similarly.
