Reserved judgment was given by the Chief Justice in the Supreme Court at Wellington in a case in which interpretation was sought of the will of Mary Ann Buckley, bequeathing £5OO to “The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of New Zealand.” The judge says he thinks the testator had in mind such, a New Zealand society, and none of the individual societies could take the legacy. The legacy and shares must be distributed under a scheme cypres.—Press Assn.
