At the Hastings Courthouse this morning, before Mr. A. A. George. J.P., George William Nelson Wilderworth was charged with (1) on February 4, receiving £1 from David Guymi by falselv representing himself to b,e Thomas O’Byrne, an official of the Timber Workers’ Union; and (2) on February 6. receiving £1 from John Ross Sloan, by falsely representing himself to be Andrew Wilson, of A. Wilson and Sons, wool and skin buyers. Invercargill. On th e application of the police the accused was remanded to appea before the Magistrate in Hastings to-morrow . Yesterday, at about 5 p.m., a Siculiar motor accident happened in eretaunga street,- fortunately without hurt to anyone and with little damage to the vehicles concerned. A motor car was standing outside Messrs Millar and Giorgi’s outfitting establishment in Heretaunga street, when a light lorry, coming from Havelock, was passing close to the standing car. A heavier lorry, laden with fruit, passing the light lorry at the moment, came into contact with it, pushing it on to the waiting car The vehicles were only slightly damaged.
