N.Z. “CHANNEL” SWIM. AN ATTEMPT RY AUCKLAND CHAMPION(Per Pres*’ Association). Blenheim, Feb. 4. An Auckland swimmer, Ronald JChn Webster, left Picton in a launch at 3.30 o’clock this morning. He was to land on a North Island beach about 8 a.m. He proposes to attempt to swim to the South Island from this beach accompanied by a launch containing pressmen and others. Webster is a member of the Ponsonby Swimming Club, 20 years of age. He won the three mile championship at Dunedin recently.
