WAIPAWA

(Own Correspondent.) Extensive improvements have been decided on for the Waipawa Racing Chib’s course, for which tenders are called. The Balclutha Boys’ Band, which is on tour, has included Waipawa in their itinerary and appears here on the 13th inst. The popularity of Coronation Park. Waipawa, as a camping ground for tourists was exemplified during the holidays. On Wednesday there was a big muster of visitors, who spoke highly of the ground. The English Futurists appear here on Wednesday evening. Tlie vital statistics for the Wai•uiwa district fo r the quarter ending December 31 were: Births 19, deaths 7, marriages 11. The totals for the years 1926 and 1927 (the latter in narenthesis) were: Birth, 78 (94), deaths 22 (29) marriages 21 (27) Mr and Mrs J W. Knnbloek are on a motoring trip to Taupo and district.
