NO DONKEY RIDES
FOR TURKISH IMAMS. Constantinople, December 3. Turkey has abolished one more custom of the ancient past by forbidding turbaned ecclesiastics from “riding about towns and cities on donkeys.” The ecclesiastic in a turban and his robes doe! not look dignified astride a donkey, the administration holds. The priests also are restrained from playing cards in coffee houses from now on.
