NEW PLYMOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS. EARLY ROUNDS PLAYED. New Plymouth, January 5. Following are the results in the tennis championships:— MEN’S SINGLES. First round: Noel Wilson beat Williams; Wills beat A. B. Wilson; Smith beat Blundell. Second round: Griffiths heat Melody; Bartleet beat Campbell; Lampe beat Pryde. COMBINED DOUBLES. Second round: Noel Wilson and Miss Tracy beat Price and Miss Johns. LADIES’ SINGLES. First round: Miss Myers heat Miss Ruttenberg; Mrs Scott-Watson beat Miss Buist. Second round: Mrs Melody beat Miss Evans.
