“PEOPLE’S DAY”

TREMENDOUS CROWD PRESENT CONCLUDING AWARDS. The Hawke’s Bay A. and P. Society’s Spring Show was brought to a conclusion yesterday afternoon, terminating one of the most successful exhibitions in the history of the .organisation. Judging from the mass of people who were on the grounds yesterday, the attendance must have formed a record, as at a calculation, it must have totalled 25,00 or over. Following are the concluding awards:— COMPETITIONS. Judge of horse competitions.—Mr Norman Banks, Cambridge. Leaping match for ponies.—H. Hassall 1, Harry Rathbone’s Dandv 2, Robert Reid’s Jimmipon 3. Fourteen entries. Champion leaping match.— Mrs T. V. Morrin’s Blazewood 1. Miss Mona Macniven’s Black Watch 2. J. Shaw's Rita 3. Percy Tilson’s Matene v.h.c. Thirty-one entries. Maiden leaping match.—Harry Rathbone’s Sultan 1. Mrs S. M. Palmer’s Sam 2, F. F. Donnelly’s Poutana 3. Thirty-two entries. Leaping match for horses, open to lady riders who have not ridden the first prize horse at anv previous agricultural show.—Miss Freda White L Miss Barbara Gatenbv 2. Miss D. Nelson 3. Ten entries. Wool-classing.—C. N. Russell 1. C. Toxward 2. special prizes. Mr AV. Grant’s special for the best footed draught horse on the around. —W. B. Campbell’s Brilliant Youth. Mr H. M. Campbell’s (M.P.) special for champion mare or gelding in the working draught section. —Geo. Leslie’s Pride. Maori Agricultural College’s special for reserve champion mare or gelding in working draught section —A. D. Collins’ Rose. Morrin Shield for champion hack. - Miss Molly Donnelly’s Matari’ka. Mr T. Parker’s £1(1 10s Challenge Cup for lady’s qualified hunter c.f this season.—Miss C. Al. Joffcid's Cenlite. N.Z. Collie Chih’s Berry Cup for best rough-coated collie doj or bitch puppy in show. C. AV. F A’ogtherr. Mr T. Parker’s silver medal tor best bitch in show.- Jas. Mason. Mr T. Parker's silver modal for best bitch in show. —C. AV. F. Vogtherr. Mrs AV.
