A large double canoe as used by Cook Island natives has been presented to the Auckland Institute and. Museum by the Pania Ariki family, or tribe of Cook Islanders (states the “New Zealand Herald”). The canoe which was'secured by Mr M. F. Ayson. Resident Commissionef at Hie Cook Islands, at the request of the museum authorities, arrived at Auckland by the Waipahi last Wednesday morning.
