HERETAUNGA CLUB ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING A SUCCESSFUL YEAR’S WORKING. The ninth annual general meeting of the' Heretaunga Swimming and Life Saving Club was held last evening when Mr. A, Mclvor presided over a large attendance of members. THE YEAR’S WORKING. The annual report and balancesheet, previously published in the “Tribune,” was read and adopted. “I must congratulate the officials on the manner in which they have carried out the year’s working and the wonderful results that have rewarded their efforts,” stated Mr. Rainbow, in speaking to the annual report. He had found that there had been no disagreements and everything had gone smoothly to make the season not only a successful one, but also a most enjoyable one. The club’s achievement and the manner in which it had carried out the teaching of swimming and life-saving was deserving of the sincere thanks of the public. Mr A. A. George also tendered his congratulations to the club. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follow: — Patron Mr. G. A.-Maddisqp; president, Air. A. D. Ross; vice-presi-dents, Mesdames Hogan, Wall, Hood and Horton. Sergeant Hogan, Messrs S. J. McKee. J. Stickland. C. Bryant, S Armstrong. A A. George, J. Hannah. A. E. O’Meara, A. I. Rainbow, T. S. Roulston. A. Christie. H. Laird, H. M. Campbell, M.P J F Le Sueur, and F C Fryer; chib captain. Mr J. Fear; vice-captain, Mr. H. Poppelwell; junior club captain. Air. T. Milne: starter, Mr. A. Mclvor; delegates to the Hawke’s Bay Centre, Messrs E. Wall and A. Mclvor; handicapper. Mr. L. Fisher; secretary. Mr. D. Graham; treasurer, Mr R Pickard: committee, Messrs W.' Hood, A Mclvor E. Wall W. West. p. Mclvor. L. Fisher and IV. Lewis; timekeeper, Mr. A, D. Ross. GENERAL. “The club’s success is largely due to Mr. Graham’s efficient energies,” stated the chairman in paying a compliment to Air. Graham upon his nomination for the position of secretaryship. A hearty vote of thanks was tendered Mr Graham with an honorarium of £3 3/-. The treasurer, Mr. R, Pickard, was also tendered an honorarium of £2 2/- for efforts during the past year. The incoming committee wa s recommended to revise the rules during the year. An additional rule recommended was that only a declared member of the club should compete in the club’s championship. The chairman pointed out that arrangements were in hand to cover the stand at the Maddison Baths.
