QUEENSLAND FIRE

SEVERAL EXPLOSIONS. WOMAN SERIOUSLY INJURED. (Received 3, 10.25 a,m.) Brisbane, Oct. 3. Fire at Alaryborough destroyed a large building occupied by Denhalm’s Ltd. as a bulk store, containing chaff and other products. Several explosions occurred among the compressed air cylinders stored on the premises* Huge pieces of molten metal were thrown in all directions. One 6ft. cylinder was thrown 300 yards over two blocks of houses and another was hurled into a house across the street. A woman was seriously injured and many windows in the vicinity were broken. The damage amounts to several thousands of pounds.
