CYCLING.

HAMILTON-AUCKLAND RACE. A 70-YEAR-OLD COMPETITOR. Auckland, Oct. 1. The cycle road race from Hamilton to Auckland, about 80 miles, carrying with it the Dunlop North Island cycle load championship, was won by J. Henderson (Auckland), 12 minutes’; W. Brewster (New Plymouth, scr., being second and W. Francis (Auckland), 17 minutes, thirds There were 23 starters. The liislest time was recorded by Brewster, I hours 34 minutes 34 seconds, off scratch. He finished 300 yards behind Henderson. E. Breckon, of Hamilton, who is 70 next week, competed in the race on handicap, completing the course in 8 hours 33 minutes.
