“HEAVEN ON EARTH.”

Starting on Wednesday next, at the Cosy de Luxe. A Picture of Life and Love, “Heaven on Earth,” is one of the most unusual and interesting pictures seen in Hastings for a long time. It has Renee Adoree and Conrad Nagel in the leading roles. An unusual amount of thought is expressed on the screen in this production, and Rosen has directed the picture with extreme finesse, handling each scene with delicacy and restraint. His love scenes are touching in the extreme. The story tells of the revolt of “Edmond Durand,” played by Conrad Nagel, from the ambitions of his aunts who would have him marry a womau he does not love. A passing troupe of Gypsies bring to him the realisation of the futility of his life and he joins them. There follows an extremely entertaining story of his love for the beautiful “Marcella,” played by Reuse Adoree, and their subsequent adventures. , Conrad Nagel as “Durand” is excellent. Especially in the scenes in which he is dressed as a vagabond, and in the scenes in the trenches, he brings a surety and understanding of the role that is extraordinary. Renee Adoree, who made such a tremendous hit as “Melisande,” in “The Big Parade,” gives another vivid interpretation as the gypsy girl, “Marcella.” The entire cast is excellent, and Antonio D’Algy in a minor role, makes it stand out as one of the most impressive bits in the picture. Gwen Lee, Julia Swayne Gordon, Marcia Manon and Pat Martigan complete the cast of players. “ SUMMER BACHELORS.” A Super Attraction. Starting on Wednesday at the Cosy de Luxe. The production will begin a three days engagement at the Cosy De Luxe Theatre beginning on Wednesday. Allan Forrest plays the leading role opposite her. Among the summer bachelors are Matt Moore, Hale Hamilton, Charles Winninger and Walter Catlett. Olive Tell plays the part-time wife of Winninger. Clifford Holland and Leila Hyams p tray the secondary leads. Fifth Avenue, Riverside Drive, Long Island Sound, country houseparties, dances on fashionable hotel roofs and in Westchester road-houses—-these are a few of the settings for “Summer Bachelors.”

Youth, romantic moonlight, mystery, thrilling speed, comedy, impulsive adventure—these are a few of the ingredients in this engrossing photodrum a.
