CONTEST FOR M ADDISON CVP. Rugby fotballers are going to be confined to a very narrow stretch for their display of speed next Saturday week, when the annual footballers’ championships for the Maddison Cup will be staged on McLean Park. Sprigs will have to be taken out of the boots, while side steepping and fox-trot runs will be barred altogether Every vear there is a discussion as to who is the fastest man in the team, and here is the chance that the fans have been waiting for. and no doubt the various club reprewill receive pood support from their respective supporters. The programme arranged i s an attractive one, their being nine events, each club being restricted to three com petitors in each eveijt. The trophy will be gained bv the club gaining the most points in all the events the points being taken on a 3-2-1 basis. The entres close definitely at 7.30 p.m. next Saturday.
