LABOUR DAY SPORTS
SUCCESSFUL MEETING ANTICIPATED.
A meeting of those interested in holding sports at Farndon on Labour Day was held in Hastings last night, Mr. A. Lowe in the chair.
The chairman explained that Napier had formed a section and they had invited Hastings to form another, so that the sports would be representative. The Heretaunga Sports Club would assist and there was a friendly feeling existing between al Ithe H.B. sports bodies which augured Avell for the success of the proposed meeting. Mrs. S. E Jones was appointed hon .secretary and the following ladies and gentlemen were appointed to the committee:—Mesdames York and Johnson, Messrs. Geeuty, Brinson, Escreet, A. Gordon, S. Dockery, Gardiner (2), V. Wall, McLeod, Robertson, Queenan, Ashford, Thompson, White, Guymer, Darrell, A. Jones, and L. Pearce.
Several sub-committees were appointed to carry out details and report.
