MAUI POMARE LAUNCHED
FOR USE IN ISLAND TRADE. (Received 30. 11.30 a.m.) London. September 29. At the launching of the New Zealand island steamer Maui Pomare. Sir James Parr read Sir Maui Po mare’s cable, saying:— "Mav she extend the work heroically begun by the ancient Pacific sea-rovers and reunite the scattered branches of the Maori race in the great ocean of KiwJ>’ Sir James Parr’s daughter.
