The Dominion Ladies’ Golf Championship opened on the Hokowhitu links in . fine weather thi* morning with an inter-island match, resulting a* follow* (North Island player* being mentioned first): — Mrs Guy Williams lost to Mrs Dodgshun, 5 and 4; Miss Watson beat Miss Kay 1 up : Miss Culling lost to Miss Acheson 1 down: Mrs Pearoe beat Miss Cracroft Wilson. 3 and 2; Mrs Dighton and Miss Stevens, all square: Miss Pavnton beat Miss Parsons 5 and 4: Mrs Grace lost to Mrs Preston. 1 down : Mrs Collinson beat Miss Bristed 5 and 4. The North Island won four and the South Island three, one being squared.

GREYMOUTH LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP.

Creymouth, September 29. The final of the Greymouth Golf Club’s ladie*’ championship resulted in Mrs Hannan (holder) defeating Mrs P. J. McCarthy 2 up and 1 tc play. Thi* is Mrs McCarthy’s re cond year as a golfer. She won the junior championship last rear. Her son won the Greymouth men's championship thi* year.
