Palmerston North, to-morrow, the first events of the New Zealand ladies’ golf championship for 1927 will be staged, and thereafter for over a week leading ladv golfers of the Do. minion wil] exert their skill for the coveted honour. In all, 122 players have entered for the various events, and of these, 61 are contesting the championship. It is reported (states a British Official Wireless) that King Amanulla of Afghanistan will shortly visit the various European capitals including London, leaving Afghanistan for this purpose early in December. Reports from the country (states a Sydney cable) state that many rural employees are losing jobs owing to the declaration of £4 4/- as the rural wage.
