SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING. The usual monthly committee meeting was held in the school house on Friday. Present: Messrs J. McKenzie i chairman) A. Brittin (secretary) t H. Thomson, Mr and Mrs Evans aiid the schoolmistress, Miss Ferguson. After some discussion it was decid cd to hold the children’s fancy dress bail on Friday, October 14th and to give prizes for the best funcy dresses, two for adults and the remainder (14) to be slotted to the children. There will also be a sweets' stall, and donations of lollies and toffee, will be gratefully received by the committee. A guessing competition will also take place when the prize will be a decorated Christmas eake. The children are eagerly looking forward to this function as it is one of the events of the year to them, and the committee ere leaving no atone unturned to make the evening a happy mejnory to the little ones. The last of the serie* of the long night dances will be held on Friday, Heptember 30th, when a Monte Carlo dance will be held, for which good pgjzes will be given. Good music is also promised so patrons ean be as cured of a good evening’s entertain
