RAIDED BY BANDITS ’ RESISTING INHABITANTS SLAIN. (Received 27. 9.40 a.m.) Shanghai, Sept. 26. Two hundred bandits looted the village of Kanlochien, adjoining Wushi on the Shanghai-Nanking rail, way. They .ransacked 400 shops and houses and collected 500,000 dollars from 30 of the wealthiest captives and killed several inhabitants who resisted them Civilian volunteers fought t?e bandits for an hour but were defeated and disarmed. The bandits carried machine-guns. The Nationalist Government is despatching troops to round up the outlaws.—(A.P.A. and “Sun’’ cable.)
