ANNUAL BALL
LANDS AND SURVEY DEPARTMENT.
A BRILLIANT SUCCESS.
The Foresters’ Hall. Nap.ier, last night presented a very happy scene, when the staff of the Lands and Survey Department gave their annual ball, at which some 600 friends were present. The hall was most beautifully decorated with falling streamers in varied colours the huge cluster tights being shaded to match. Upstairs a most comfortable lounge was provided, which greatly added to the pleasure of the evening. The floor was in its usual perfect condition, while the music by the Cabaret Orchestra was all that could be desin levers of the terpsichore were abie to enjoy an ecstasv of one-stepping, fox-trotting, and the more modern Charleston under extremelv delightful conditions. A most sumptuous supper was provided, being served on attractively decorated tables. A great deal of praise is due to Miss Ashton and her committee for the great social success of the function.
