LATE TURF
N.Z. CUP RE-HANDICAP. (Per Press Association). Wellington, September 27. Royal Mont has been re-handicap-ped to 7.4 in the New Zealand Cup. AVONADLE RACES. HOW THEY RAN. The following accounts are by the “Dominion’s” Auckland correspondent): — Cohesion, Eden Hall RoyM Mint, and Mask counted many supporters in the Plumpton Handicap, but the only one of them to run anywhere near expectations was Royal Mint, who won well, and emphasised the fact that he was unlucky in the Cup. Llandudno and Alloway led for most of tho journey, with Queen Arch, Master Doon, and Cohesion well placed, with Mask and Eden Hall well in the middle of the field. Boyal Mint was handy at the home turn, and from there he ran through the field, and won very easily.,by a couple of lengths from Golden Krist, who was almost the outsider of the field; a length and a half away came Lord Star, with Cohesion fourth, and Mint Leaf, Barometer, Alloway, Queen Arch, Master Doon, and Llandudno following. There was a long delay at the barrier in the President’s Handicap, for winch Delightment and Tinokoa were favourites. Finelli and Delightment led to the straight from Nancy Lee, and Tinokoa came through on the raiTs. Sir Archie, who was close up on the outer, quickly cut down the leaders and scored very comfortably by three lengths from Delightment. Nancy Lee was another length away third, Tlnokon a fair fourth, and next were King Emerald Town Guard High Pitch, and Dayguard.
