INTER-SCHOOL MATCH.
PALMERSTON DEFEATS NAPIER TECH. The Palmerston North Technical girls’ hockey team avenged the defeat of their football representatives on Saturday morning at Palmerston by beating the Napier girls’ team by two goals to nil. The ground was not in the best of condition for hockey and this somewhat affected the play, but, nevertheless, a good game resuli ed in which Palmerston North fully deserved their win. Palmerston’s defence was much sounder than that of the visitors, and despite a lot ol patchy play and rather indiscriminate hitting, they held their goal in tact throughout. The Napier side was trie weaker on attack and did not seem to be able to keep control of the ball at the critical moment. Misses Reardon Reed, Hansen and Crabbe played good games for the visitors.—(Manawatn Times).
