NAPIER LADIES’ CLUB. *

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP.

A match for a trophy presented by Mr. D. Kettle, for the best two out of three four-bail matches, was played on the Waiohiki links yesterday by the Napier Ladies' Golf Club, and resulted in a win for Miss T. Brown (23) and Mrs Bullock (29), with a score of 14 up for two rounds. Mrs T. Geddis (19) and Miss W. Geddis (21) were second, their score being 13 up, while Mrs Dinwiddle and Miss M. tjibbons (16) were third, with a score of 10 up.

The final of the club championship was played last week, when a win was secured for the second year in succession by Mrs K. lareha, who beat Miss M. White, the score being three up and two to play. The junior championship for the Misses Vigor Brown Cup has now reached the final stages, the championship now lying between Mrs Cottrell and Miss K. Geddis, who will play off during this week. The final for the Hoadley Cup is to be played before Friday next between Mrs Bullock and Miss M. McKay.

The club will hold its annual tournament on the Waiohiki links from September 20 to 23 inclusive.

After heavy rain yesterday the weather does not look too promising for the opening of the Dominion "Olf championship meeting on the St Andrew’s links to-day, when the championship foursome for amateurs and professionals will be played. This is the first occasion that this event has been included in the pro. gramme, mainlv through the efforts of the late R. C. Kirk who donated the cups.
