ENGLISH TEAM IN GERMANY.

ENTHUSIASTICALLY RECEIVED.

Berlin, Aug. 28. Ten thousand enthusiastically witnessed the Achilles Club, the first English athletic team to go to Germany since the war, defeat the Deutsche Sports Klub and Berliner Sports Klub in a triangular match. Tne respective points scored were 70, 62 and 60, the visitors winning two of the three prizes. The Englishmen lost the sprint and won the sequence of races, but were beaten in the field events.

Wightman Smith won the 110 metres with Lord Burleigh second; Ixiwe the 400 metres and Stallard the 800 metres.—(A.P.A. and “Sun” cable).
