THE PICTURE HOUSES.

COSY DE LUXE. Geoffrey Malvern, a young artist seeking adventure and types in the slums of London, is struck by the charm and beauty of Mavis Hogan. Ho is also attracted by a resemblance to his former fiancee, now dead. Some weeks later, he again sees her. But things are different. Mavis is no longer a citizen of Limehouse. She lives with Joan’s mother in Mayfair. How' did she get there? What is she doing? What happens? ■Such is the plot of “London,” Dorotlw Gish’s latest starring production, now at the Cosy Theatre, Hastings. Thomas Burko is the author; Herbert Wileox, the director; British National Pictures Ltd., the producer, and Paramount, the distributor. In support is shown “The Silent Rider” one of the best Western pictures of the year. Hoot Gibson does some of the best riding and acting of his long career before the silver sheet, and is excellently supported by a featured cast. Otis Harlan, who plays the part of Hoot’s partner in a homesteading venture, does some splendid acting, as does Nora Cecil as the housekeeper at the Bar Z Ranch. Blanche Mehaffey, w’ho by one of those quirks of fate is actually red headed, plays the part <f the girl “looking for a red headed husband.” How she finds him and what happens when she does, furnishes one of the most interesting plots ever unfolded in a moving 'pl'etnr*.
