The mail train to Napier this after, noon collided with a petrol tank lorry at the Square crossing Palmerston North The lorry overturned but the driver, fortuantely escaped injury. Petrol escaped from the lorry tank, and it was necessary ioi the police to take strict precautions to prevent fire causing an explosion. —Press Association.
