With full Masonic ceremonial, the Duke of Connaught laid the foundation stone of the new London Masonia Temple, which is intended both a, a central home of the craft and to perpetuate the memory of Masons fallen in the war. The Duke of Connaught, who is initiating the project and appealed for £1,000,000, announced that £900,000 had been promised, of which £725,000 had been paid. The actual ceremony occurred at the Covent Garden site, but in order to accommodate the 10,000 delegates from overseas branches, a replica was produced at Albert Hall. Full regaha was worn and the Duke of Connaught’s arrival was announced by a fanfare of trumpets. x .
