Masonic Temple
New Edifice In London. FOUNDATION STONE LAID. FULL CEREMONIAL. (By Cable-Preu Alin. — Copyright! (Received 15, 1.80 p.m.) London, July 14. With full Masonic ceremonial, the Duke of Connaught laid the foundation stone of the new London Masonia Temple, which is intended both a, a central home of the craft and to perpetuate the memory of Masons fallen in the war. The Duke of Connaught, who is initiating the project and appealed for £1,000,000, announced that £900,000 had been promised, of which £725,000 had been paid. The actual ceremony occurred at the Covent Garden site, but in order to accommodate the 10,000 delegates from overseas branches, a replica was produced at Albert Hall. Full regaha was worn and the Duke of Connaught’s arrival was announced by a fanfare of trumpets. x . The Duke of York and Prince Arthur of Connaught participated in the procession, carrying their emblems of „ the ,ton » was laid the Duke of Connaught re-enacted the ceremony according tp the Masonic code and read the King’s message appreciating the assembly’s loyalty.— (A. and N.Z.)
