MINERS’ FEDERATION.

MR. SPENCER S NEW UNION MANY RECRUITS. London, July 11. The “Daily E?;press” says that a dramatic situation is developing between the Miners’ Federation and Mr. Spencer’s new Industrial Miners’ Union, whicL is quickly gaining recruits. The Miners’ Federation, since the strike, has fallen from 800,000 paying members to about 400,000. At present the Trade Union Congress does not recognise Mr. Spencer’s union but if its membership increases much more it will be difficult for the Congress to continno to ignore it.—(A. and N.Z.)
