MEN WHO DO THINGS.

(To the Editor.') Sir, —Spring is coming, so let us all try and see the beauty of life as it should be. looking only for the good and doing oiir best to help and tolerate the weaknesses of each other, and let us all swat the “blowfly.” 1 will refer briefly to critics, honest, sarcastic, and other kinds. (I - ) “Pro Bono Publico,” which means “for the good of the public.” writes in a sarcastic vein which savours of the idle gossip at street corners, and 1 cannot see how his letter helps the good cause, which should be construction, not destruction. as for “Tim,” although 1 cannot include him among my friends. I feel sure he has a more beautiful nature than either of us, and does far more good. (2) “Old Resident” writes m a sensible style which must lead the public to appreciate all good works done, and in this respect let us not give all the praise to the Boss, but let us remember that in all great enterprises it is the man who toils with his hands “guided naturally by his brain” who really and truly builds up the nation, so why not find employment for everyone as an Empire builder, and do it now? Quite easy to do; take a little from the talkers and give it to the workers.—Yours etc., NAT. BEAMISH. Hastings. 11/7/27.
