ACCUSED OF ESPIONAGE.
EX-BKIiISH OFFICER ARRESTED Paris, Dec. 29. Vivian Strauders, alleged to ho a former British officer, was arrested when leaving Paris for Germany, accused of espionage Though it occurred on the 21st, the arrest was only announced after inquiries by the French counter espionage service, who stated that Dr. Weber, who had a German secret service in France, paid Stranders 1500 gold marks for Ins answer to a detailed questionnaire regarding tho army, aviation, tanks and machine-gun improvements.—(A. and N.Z.) ,
