llie above flocks are recognised as being among the best in the Rangitikei. Tile Romney stud was founded with ewes purchased from Mr. J. A. McLean, and is that portion of the original flock taken over at the dissolution of partnership of McLean Brothers. Tlie other portion, which reverted to Mr. L. T. McLoun, was dispersed, and created tremendous interest, and established record prices at the time. Considerable honour have been won in the past at Wanganui, Marton and Taihape Shows, and the sheep to he offered will be found as being typical Romneys, very densely clad and active, strong constituted sheep. This herd comprises the picked members of the illustrious Flower family, including the two famous champion daughters of the old champion in those great breeding cows, Empress of Ben Lomond and Helen of Ben Lomond. At the recent Hawke's Bay Show every class of females was headed by a representative of this family, which for character, conformation, early maturity and heavy flesh cannot be excelled in the Southern Hemisphere.
