Laurent, secretary of the French Rugby Federation, with many English and French sportsmen, including Mr. C. J. Wray, welcomed the Maoris at Marseilles. Barclay, captain, said the match arranged to be played at Marseilles on September 12 was not included in the original programme. The team needed two months’ hard training.
