The members of the Hastings Orphans’ Club will pay a visit to the Napier Savage Club on Tuesday evening, and provide them with a programme. The orchestra will also make the trip. Buses will leave the Hastings Post Office at 7 p.m. sharp for the conveyance of members. A final reminder is given of the Farmers’ Union meeting to be held i nthe Chamber of Commerce rooms, Queen street, Hastings, to-morrow, Tuesday, 24th. inst., at 10 a.m. All members of the Union are invited to attend.
There is a large interest being manifested in the colony of wonderful birds which comes, year by year to Cape Kidnappers. If you love nature study, come and hear Mr. Horace Cotterill deliver his illustrated lantern lecture on the wonderful gannets of Cape Kidnappers, on Wednesday at 7.45 p.m., at the Baptist Church, Hastings. Admission by collection. There will be a rollicking round-up from Monday to Saturday at Westerman and Co.’s, Hastings, when there will be a final clearance of stocktaking throw-outs, offering to bargain seekers remarkable opportunities to save money. Westerman and Co. also cordially invite the public to visit their showroom in order to view the new spring millinery now on display. The famous low prices make an added appeal. Millar and Giorgi’s sale closed on Saturday, and as is usual after a sale, oddments are left. The firm intend clearin gthese out at special prices to quit. See advertisement on page two.
