WAIPUKURAU NOTES.
The weather continues to be characteristic of mid-winer and heavy showers have been general throughout the day. The conditions arc unfavourable from the point of view of lambing which is now in progress throughout Central Hawke’s Bay. Mr and Mrs G. E. Fowler arc at present spending a few days in Wellington. Mr J. lox, formerly a member ot the local Post al staff and now in the Wellington office, is at present on u visit to Waipukurau. The Mayor of Waipukurau (Air E. A. Goodger) is in Wellington on Municipal business. Mrs AV. Love, of Wimbledon, wno underwent an operation in the Waipuku.Ml Hospital recently, is making good progress towards recovery from his illness. Mr A. C. Russell, chairman of the. Waipukurau County Council, is in Wellington, and attended the annual conference of the New Zealand Counties’ Association. Mr Russell will also will also attend the Power Board Conference to-day. Mr J. K. Lee, engineer to the Tower Board, is also in Wellington.
