The Policeman’s Lot
WILL IT BECOME HAPPIER? NEW ITALIAN PROPOSAL. (Received 26, 8.5 a.in.) Rome, June 24. It is debatable if the’ policeman’s lot will become happier under the proposal of the Anti-Blasphemy League that the police bo given authority io collect a small fine from anybody heard swearing in the street. Royaltv. the Pope, and Signor Mussolini are supporters of the campaign and it is expected that a Bill on these lines will shortly be introduced.—(A. and N.Z.)
