WOMEN’S REST.
MUCH APPRECIATED INSTITUTION. The Mayor submitted the annual report which showed the receipts (including borough subsidy £5O) £24 4 5d and tbo expenditure £207 15s Bd, with £36 4s 9d in hand and in the bank. The ordinary receipts amounted to £l7O and the expenditure to £207 15s Bd. The attendance at the Best rooms, in 1923, was 13,629; in 1924, 22,548; in 1925, 27,095; and in 1926, 29,861; and at the Plunkct rooms: 1923, 6347; 1924, 7040; 1925, 7558; 1920, 5170. Totals: 1925, 19.976; 1924, 29,588; 1925, 34,653; 1926,36,031. The Rest is giving splendid service and its success is, in a great measure, due to the sympathy and supervision of the matron (Mrs Hogcnson and her assistant (Miss List). The report was adopted.
