WESTFIELD MARKET. Auckland, March 31. There was an average yarding and values for ox beef were better and all steers sold under keen competition. Good heifers and young cows were also better. Extra choice and prime ox 30s per 1001 b., choice and prime 27s to 295, drdinar}’ and plain 22s to 245, prime young cow anti heifer beef 265, ordinary 225, .rough 12s to 20s. Sheep: A smaller yarding came forward and prices in consequence were decidedly better for well finished sheep. Heavy prime wethers £1 11s 3d, medium prime £1 8s to £1 10s, small and unfinished £1 2s to £1 6s, best heavy prime ewes 235, medium £1 to £1 Is, light and unfinished 14s to 18s, Lambs: There was an average yarding and little or no change in values. Heavy prime lambs made 275, medium 245, light 20s to 22s 6d, good rape lambs 15s to 18s. Calves: A good yarding came forward prices again being slightly easier. Runners £3 18s to £4 2s, heavy vealers £3 2s to £3 9s, medium £2 15s to £3, light £1 18s to £2 6s, small £1 6s to £1 15s, fresh dropped 3s to 7s. Pigs: A fair yarding. Prices for baconers remained firm, but porkers were easier. Choppers £4 8s to £4 15s, medium and heavy baconers £4 to £4 11s, light baconers and heavy porkers £3 8s to £3 13s. medium and light porkers £1 16s to £2 17s. WELLINGTON FRUIT AND PRODUCE MARKETS. (Special to “Tribune.”) The Wellington fruit brokers, comprising the firms of Leery, and Co., Ltd., Geo. and Co., Ltd., Thompson Bros., Ltd., Townsend and Paul and D. Bowie and Co. report on the fruit and produce market as follows:—The market continues to be well supplied with black spot and inferior grade fruit. Consignments of fancy grade only can be recommended with the following prices ruling:— Apples: Cox’s Orange 7/- to 8/-; Jonathans 4/6 to 5/-; Delicious 5/6 to 6/6; cookers 4/6 to 5/6. Pears: Winter Cole 6/6 to 7/6; L.B.J. 7/- to 8/-; Clairgeau 4/- to 5/-; Vicars 4/6 to 5/6; all per bushel. Supplies of stone fruit continue to come to hand and are meeting with a good demand. Miscellaneous: Cape gooseberries 6/to 7/-; tomatoes (Hijtt) coloured 2/6 to 3/-; ripe 2/- to 2/6; grapes 1/3 to 1/4; eggs, fresh 2/4, preserved 1/6 to 1/9; walnuts lid to 1/- a lb.
