HOSPITAL CLOSED.
DRASTIC CHINESE STRIKE. Hongkong. Mar. 20. Canton Hospital, the oldest and one of the largest in China, has been compelled to close, owing to a strike of the Chinese employees, who have closely surrounded the premises with pickets and have cut off provisions, water ano electric light. From its foundation, Chinese and foreigners, mostly Americans, have co-operated in the maintenance, management and work of the hospital. Dr Sun Yat Sen (the first President of the Republic) commenced to study medicine there, and. not long before his death, secured a perpetual grant of Government land for extensions.
