Reaches Important Stage PEKIN THREATENED. GENERAL ‘BED MOVE EXPECTED. [By Cable—Press Association—Copyright.] (Received 29, 10.5 a.iu.) Pekin, March 28. The civil war has reached an important stage. Th© Mukden generals, Li Ching-lin and Chang Tsong-chang, who only loosely acknowledge Chang 'Jsolin’s authority, having recaptured Tien-tsin from Kuo Alin-chun, are now advancing along the railway to Pekin, while Cliang Tso-hn’s cavalry are advancing to Pekin from the east, and Wu Hei-fu t having completely cleared the Honan province of Kuo Alin-chun’s forces, js advancing on tli© capital along the Pekin-Hankow railway. Meanwhile, Wu Pei-fu’s rear is tlireatened owing to a Red coup d ’etat recently at Ohang-sha. Hankow reports that troops from Chang-sha ar© moving against Yochow, on the Hunan-Hupeh border, and that this is regarded at Wu Pei-fu’s headquarters as a preliminary to M a general Red expedition against Hankow.—(Reuter.) RUSSIANS DEPORTED Pekin, Afarch 27. Communication between Tien-tsiu and Pekin has been cut since yesterday. lliis is believed to indicate fighting i nthe vicinity of Yang-stun. Chinese circles in Shanghai ,report that Tuan Clii-jui has fled to the Japanese legation and Marshal Wang Shih-chen who recently was most active m perfbe proposals between the combatants has taken temporary charge of the Government at Pekin, but so far there is no confirmation of this. Thirteen Russians ,including three military instructors, were arrested in Canton and deported. Several strike leaders were also arrested.—(Reuter.)
