ROAD TO SHOWGROUNDS.

(To the Editor). Sir, — During a preliminary discussion concerning the bitumenising of the road to the new showgrounds, Mr. 'l'. E. Crosse remarked that it would “he hard” on Heretaunga Riding. If my inference that this riding will be saddled with the whole cost, is correct, then as a ratepayer therein I strongly protest. Enlargement is unnecessary to snow that a gross injustice would be perpetrated on ratepayers of Heretaunga Hiding if compelled to pay for a road the cost of which should be allocated amongst those who will derive Tn« benefit. I suggest the A. and P. Society raise its entrance tariff to meet the expenditure.—Yours, J. T. FAWCETT. Louie Street, 26/3/26.
