ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

As a result of being savagely attacked bv a sow, a child, aged five years, son of Mr. W. Jones, sharemilker. of Wangaehu, is at present in the Wanganui Hospital. Tho child picked up a little pig from h litter to fondle it and was immediately at- k tacked by the sow. Before a rescue could be effected the child was severely bitten in various parts of the body. It was at first feared that bis injuries were of a very serious nature but he is now making a good recovery. Mavis Mace, or Auckland, aged about 19, had half of ber face blown away'Tiy the explosion of a gun. which, it is understood. she was cleaning.
