ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
The body of a middle-aged woman, fully dressed, was found near the road at Oakloigh (Victoria) early yesterday morning in a sitting posture against a tree. There were wheel marks nearby. An examination revealed that death followed a certain operation and that the bodv had been hurriedly dressed and taken in a vehicle to where it was found. So far there is no clue as to tho perpetrators or to tho woman’s identity. A fatal accident occurred at Martinborough yesterday afternoon. Hentv Hodges Harrison, a motor lorry driver, employed by Chapman and Sons, was proceeding to Martin borough to load lour tons of cement. Ascending tho Otaraia cutting, a very steep pinch, he attempted to change gears, but missed, and the lorrv ran backwards over the side of the road and fell .40 feet. Nicholson, a youth riding with Harrison, jumped clear and was uninjured. but Harrison was buried under the capsized load, and when extricated by Dr. Webb, was dead. Tho deceased was a married man, aged 3 5 ,. with no children.
