HAWKE'S BAY PRESBYTERY.

REV. P. RAMSAY RETIRING

At a special meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Presbytery held yesterday in St. Andrew’s Church, Hastings, a call from the parishioners of Maraekakaho to the Rev. Robert McCully> of Hinds, was submitted to and unanimously sustained bv the Presbytery. As Mr. McCully had intimated his intention to accept the call, his induction was fixed to take place in the Maraekakaho Hall on Thursday February 4, 1926. at 7.30 p.m., the Rev. J. A. Asher to preside and address the congregation, the Rev. A. E. Hunt to preach the induction sermon, and the Rev. F. W. Robertson to address the minister after his induction.

At the same meeting the Rev. P. Ramsay intimated that on account of ill health it was his intention to resign his position as minister of St. Andrew’s, Hastings, from March 31, 1926. The moderator, the Rev. J. A. Asher, and members of the Presbytery, expressed deep regret that Mr. Ramsay had been compelled to make this decision, and conveyed to him their great goodwill esteem and affection, and their appreciation of the great services he had rendered to the good cause.
